Individual programme
The programme is adjusted to the stage of treatment and to how you actually respond.
How it works
The programme is not fixed on day one. It changes with your tolerance, your treatment and your weekly response.
Scientific evidence
The 2019 international consensus led by the American College of Sports Medicine concluded that moderate aerobic exercise around three times a week, plus strength training twice a week, improves fatigue, anxiety, depressive symptoms, quality of life and physical function in people with cancer. It also confirmed that supervised strength training is safe for women with breast-cancer-related lymphoedema.
The 2022 ASCO guideline recommends aerobic and strength exercise during treatment with curative intent to reduce side effects. Before lung cancer surgery, exercise is associated with fewer complications and shorter hospital stays.
Exercise complements cancer treatment; it does not replace it. Where evidence comes from observational studies, such as the link between physical activity and survival, it is an association, not a guarantee.
The result
The aim is to help you pace yourself, recognise changes and keep going when things shift.

It can work in many cases, especially if you can train independently and do not need continuous in-person supervision. The format is agreed after the first contact and assessment.
